SciViews R GUI

A GUI for R

SciViews-R is a suite of companion applications that provides a Graphical User Interface (GUI) on top of the command-line driven environment of R. To get a rapid feeling of the look-and-feel of SciViews-R, take a look at these screenshots and this presentation. Currently, these applications run only under Windows, but...

Please, refer to the corresponding section in the manual for the installation procedure! Some people reported problems to download the bigger files with Internet Explorer. Please, use Firefox, if you cannot download these files correctly!

It is also a complete GUI API for R, written in S language and thus platform-independent. This GUI API is implemented into seven different R packages (svGUI, svIO, svViews, svMisc, svDialogs, svIDE and svSocket), all collected together in the SciViews bundle. It is intended as a starting point to reimplement the SciViews-R companion applications (or any other R GUI) as platform-independent in the future.

A manual details how to install and use SciViews-R. It contains also a technical section that explains the GUI API. The latter one is intended for developers.
